I’m a recruiter and Team Business Manager. In addition to supporting my clients and candidates as an account manager, I’m also supporting a team of recruiters, helping them to grow and ensuring they’ve got the tools they need to thrive.
I specialise in hospitality and the retail sector. And although they’re a little less common in the consumer sector these days, I also support clients in setting up and running assessment days. I still run centres once or twice a month recruiting everyone from trainees to store managers.
I love delivering for clients and the team I lead, and I really love the feeling when you help someone win a role and you know it’s going to be right for them.
My retail career started by accident. For years, I’d worked with a supermarket during and after college, university and law college, rising to become a Night Operations Manager, leading a team of 80. When I decided the law wasn’t for me, I chose to stay in retail and for my next step applied for a store manager role via Zachary Daniels. The interviews were in the ZD offices. I didn’t really know what a recruitment agency did but during the day I got chatting to [ZD co-founder] Zac and he suggested I came in for a trial. I’ve been here ever since.
I absolutely love the people here. They’re friends as well as colleagues. The culture here is incredible. Every day I feel I’m growing my skills and abilities. It feels good to be with a recruiter that focuses on people and results, not sales. We do what we do because we’re really good at it, because know the difference we make, and because the relationships we build with clients and candidates are important to us.
