Ryan Preston

I’m Zachary Daniels’ Finance & Operations Manager so my main priorities include invoicing, payroll and internal reporting for our recruitment consultants and for Zac and Danny [Zachary Daniels’ founders and leaders].

On the operations side, I’m responsible for setting up and managing our back-office tools, our recruitment system, and for setting up and maintaining the tech our people use.

I enjoy the analytical side of my work — I love a spreadsheet. I left my previous employer to search for a more analytical role and broke my leg playing rugby in the same week, which wasn’t ideal timing. During my recovery I helped the ZD team move into their new office and was asked to help with a little coding. Then I covered a business support role for another member of the team’s maternity leave. I’m still here because Zac and Danny gave me the opportunity to grow this role and make it my own.

The culture here is a big thing for me. It really does feel like one big family. We’re all working towards the same goals and we all get on. Becoming employee-owned has helped galvanize us as a team even more and I think that’s part of why so many reputable brands choose us, and why we’re consistently winning new clients.

I’m a huge sports fan, although I don’t play rugby any more. I support Crystal Palace because my family’s from South London. I follow Warrington Wolves, I like golf and love horse racing as well. My family has owned horses for years and have been lucky enough to have a winner at the Cheltenham Festival.
