I try really hard not to be a typical recruiter (you know the sort). I want my clients to see me as an extension of their business, someone who can get past the job description to find candidates who really fit their culture and values.
(Almost) anyone can recruit to match a skillset. But for the clients I work with, what really counts is being able to recruit people who match their culture.
The longer I work with you, the more you’ll find I live and breathe your values. I really do see myself as an extension of my clients’ organisations – so much so that candidates often think I work for you rather than a third party recruiter.
Fortunately, I love the organic, long-term feel of HR recruitment. It’s all about nurturing relationships, doing the right thing by clients and candidates. It’s also about helping the organisations I work with do the right thing by their people.
I’m also the recruitment specialist people send their more challenging, high profile or niche projects to. When the location is remote and the candidate pool is small. When exceptional candidates also have to fit inclusion and diversity criteria. When you have a role that doesn’t seem to fit any traditional category, I can help. And I don’t stop until just the right person is in post.
After nearly a decade with ZD, what I love about the business is still the same as it was on day 1… the trusting culture. You have the autonomy to be who you want to be and shape your journey and career, but behind you you’ve got such support and development and a gentle push to help you be the best version of yourself. It’s like a lovely big hug.
Outside of work I’m a mum to my son Cassius (and a dog mum to my 2 Bernese Mountain dogs Martha & Edna). When not on Mum duty you will find me on a yoga mat or usually raising money for charity, during lockdown I raised over 10k for our local hospice St Roccos by doing a series of challenges… one being walking to Everest Base Camp on my home staircase – 9 hours of climbing for 5 days!
